Good Care Month – time to celebrate and reflect

July was Good Care Month, a month that celebrated the dedication and skill of people who work in social care, and the amazing job that they do. Genuinely changing lives and making the difference between living and merely existing, caring is so often seen as an unskilled profession when nothing could actually be further from the truth.

It’s a good time to reflect on the fact that most people don’t realise that choosing to move into a community such as Riverstone means that you are much less likely to need additional support to remain independent than if you’d stayed living in your previous home. And if you already need some care at the time you move to Riverstone, you’re likely to find over the coming months that you need less of it than you did before. The impact of knowing that there is always someone you can stop and have a chat with, who will be looking out for you and will notice if there’s something wrong, really shouldn’t be under-estimated.
