This cocktail is a perfect choice if you’re looking to try something festive, warm, and bright. It brings together the rich, cosy flavours of Hennessy cognac with the fresh zestiness of orange, which we all know and love as a festive classic.

The orange juice and Curaçao add a bright, sweet-tangy citrus flavour that perfectly complements the smooth, full-bodied taste of cognac.
Cognac has a hint of spice that pairs beautifully with the sweetness of the orange, creating a balanced drink that feels cosy, warm, and refreshing.

For a non-alcoholic version, follow the same steps but with the proposed alternative ingredients, indicated with “or”.

Ingredients

• 1.5 oz Hennessy Cognac
OR
Vanilla Syrup & Pinch of Pumpkin Spice

• 0.5 oz Orange Curaçao
OR
Orange Syrup

• 2 oz Fresh Orange Juice

• Splash of Champagne
OR
Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine

• Orange twist (for garnish)

 

Instructions

1. Chill your glass: Begin by chilling a coupe or champagne flute by filling it or submerging it in ice. Set aside while you prepare the drink.
2. Mix the base: In a cocktail shaker, combine the Hennessy Cognac, orange Curaçao, and fresh orange juice. Add ice and shake well until chilled.
3. Prepare your glass: Discard the ice and water from your chilled glass.
4. Strain the mixture: Strain the shaken ingredients into your glass, ensuring a smooth pour.
5. Top with Champagne: Gently top the drink with a splash of Champagne, pouring slowly to keep the bubbles intact.
6. Garnish: Twist an orange peel and rub it around the rim of your glass to release its oils, then drop it into the glass, or perch it on the side as a garnish.
